Favicon

Hello, my name is Michelle and though this is my first blog that I've worked on, I consider myself tech savvy and hope to share some tech knowledge here.

My first contribution to this blog is the addition of a favicon to distinguish ours from other Blogger blogs. A favicon is also known as a tab icon, URL icon, bookmark icon, etc, and is visible on the browser tab for the webpage.

In making this change, I also learned a valuable tip. At first when I was attempting to change the icon, the change was not visible. I learned that to force refresh a website and show changes that were made, I had to press Ctrl + F5.

  1. The favicon is a nice touch. I think they help make a website look more professional and official.

  2. Thank you for the tip about pressing Ctrl + F5. Just made myself a note about that so I remember to use in the future.

Hello! I added the label widget to the blog. I think as we add more information it would be useful to label posts to make it easy to access relevant information all at once.

Gadget - C. Lynch

For my contribution,  I added a Link List gadget to our sidebar. The link I included was a link to the Palomar Library and Information Technology Program page. I added it because it gives more context to who is writing our blog and why.
Hi! For my contribution to our blog, I changed the blog Theme to Notable Coral and customized its primary color to light blue. In doing this, I realized that if I am not careful in making that sort of change can inadvertently cause my groupmates' contributions to disappear. When I looked at previews of the new theme, the Wikipedia gadget that Susan had added disappeared. To make sure I didn't undo anyone's work, I created a test blog of my own so I could have a low-stakes place to test the change to the theme without ruining anyone else's contributions.  -Carly L.
